The best part about blogging in the wee (ish) hours of the morning? Being one of the first few to check out fresh music from some of the world’s EDM legends.
While perusing twitter this evening, we stumbled across a tweet from the one and only Tommie Sunshine, stating “added a couple of late night treats to soundcloud“. Two clicks later and we were jamming to Sunshine‘s radio edit of the new Matchbox Twenty single “She’s So Mean” as well as the Sirius XM Studio Rebroadcast of The Kimberly Hotel Rooftop.
The radio edit is a feverishly paced, 8-bit driven masterpiece with fiery arpeggios, surprise drops, an outstanding bridge and of course Rob Thomas‘ unmistakeable vocals wafting above it all.
The Mix tape on the other hand displays superb attention to detail, brilliant track selection and absolutely flawless transitions. It’s not as good as being at the live performance, granted, but its the closest thing to it without having to travel back in time.
Nobody does house music better, and both of these offerings only further the legend that IS Tommie Sunshine.
