First things first: we haven’t seen Django Unchained, so our review of Kool & Kabul‘s latest edit might be considered by some die hard movie fans, a feeble attempt at capitalizing on a popular movie. Regardless of our viewing history, the duo’s new take on Anthony Hamilton and Elayna Boynton’s “Freedom” is nothing short of brilliant, converting an already well-crafted track, into a deep house jam that’d be perfect for nearly any lounge or kick back setting.
Soulful, thoughtfully produced and a fitting tribute to the original, this edit is definitely worth giving a play through.
In addition to the new edit, we’re posting a remix from a little while back (also from Kool & Kabul) of Klangkarussell‘s “Smoothie” which is equally as impressive. Germany is known for pumping out some seriously talented acts, and Kool & Kabul are just one of the many outfits you’ll wanna keep an eye on in 2013.
